World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists The World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA) is a unique organization in that it is a society of 122 member societies of anaesthesia. The objectives of the WFSA are to make available the highest standards of anesthesia, pain treatment, trauma management and resuscitation to all peoples of the world. The WFSA conducts several programs to address care to the underserved in developing countries, including fundraising to provide education and equipment to anaesthesiologists and hospitals as well as directly supporting training centers and a Fellowship Training Program.

These WFSA standards are intended to provide guidance and assistance to anaesthesia professionals, their professional societies, hospital and facility administrators, and governments for improving and maintaining the quality and safety of anaesthesia care.
