World Medical Mission is a ministry of Samaritan's Purse, an international Christian relief and evangelism organization specializing in meeting the needs of victims of war, poverty, natural disasters and disease. Our mission centers on working to improve such conditions and offering these patients a far greater hope—the eternal healing of the Great Physician, Jesus Christ. We provide protestant evangelical mission hospitals and clinics with the resources they need— equipment, supplies, and Christian physicians and biomedical technicians—to treat their patients while standing as a shining witness of God's love through Jesus Christ. Wherever we serve, the Gospel is faithfully presented through hospital chaplains, Christian literature, films, audio tapes, and other means. We place Christian physicians and other medical personnel in strategic locations overseas and also provide mission hospitals with critically needed equipment and supplies. World Medical Mission’s ministry centers on arranging short-term service for Christian doctors and dentists in Christian mission hospitals overseas. Our commitment is to provide medical and dental care and through it, communicate the love and the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We not only want to bring healing for patients’ bodies, but hope for their eternal souls. Our ministry began in 1978 when Drs. Lowell and Richard Furman sought a way to share their medical gifts with the world and communicate the Gospel at the same time. World Medical Missions was formed and Franklin Graham, son of evangelist Billy Graham, was asked to serve as its president. We currently serve scores of mission hospitals in eighteen countries. God has blessed our ministry, and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve so many in Christ's name.

World Medical Mission provides assistance in arranging all travel for our medical missions including international flights and in-country travel . The individual volunteer is responsible for the cost of travel to a foreign country. We also assist the volunteer with any needed visas and permits.

World Medical Mission is a protestant evangelical Christian medical outreach agency. Providing witness to the healing powers of Jesus Christ are an integral part of our work, and as part of our standard application format, a recommendation from your church is required.
